Profile - Graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1978 from the University of Bologna, Italy. In 1982 he specialized in Gynecology and Obstetrics at the University of Siena.His professional experience took place in Bologna, at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, in Ljubiana (ex Yugoslavia), Los Angeles (University California Irvine) and Paris. He is currently medical director of the Extra Omnes Medicine and Reproductive Health center in Cattolica, Italy. He was Adjunct Associate Professor at New York Medical Center (CUNY) until 2006. He is currently Adjunct Associate Professor at Yale University. Author of two experimental models: that of the extracorporeal perfusion of the human uterus (with the first implantation of an embryo in a uterus outside of a human body) and the first uterine passage of hormones administered vaginally "First Pass Effect" ( FUPE). He has published 15 medical books, over 200 journal articles and over 130 medical book chapters. He is an expert in uterine physiology and pathology, steroid hormones and reproductive science. His research today is focused on human endometrium, embryonic implantation and endometriosis. Scientific director of the Master of Reproductive Science at the University of Urbino (Italy) in the years 2013-2014. He is a mainly laparoscopic surgeon with over 12,000 operations performed and is currently the CEO of Helpme.doctor, a medical consultancy portal for worldwide first and second opinions.
